This year is quickly winding down. The big trip is done, Pre-UIL is done, spring break is done. We have UIL, the band banquet, the concerto competition, and the final concert left on our band horizon. Whew! That doesn't mean we don't have things to do however. That would never be the case!

This booster meeting on Tuesday, 4/5, will be primarily to nominate, make motions, and vote for the new board. That may not be your thing, but this is ESSENTIAL business. The booster organization is a very large body of people. Without a leading group, the success of the organization will flounder quickly. We NEED a quorum to conduct this ESSENTIAL business. Please give us your time, 1 hour, to get this work done. It's just this one time!!


As previously mentioned, the Band Banquet will be held on April 29th from 6:00 - 11:00. The cost per person for this event is $40. All parents and grandparents are welcome to attend. The banquet will be composed of a meal, awards (both serious and silly), a slide show of the senior band students, and a dance with a DJ. You will find the reservation for attached to this email. Only advance reservations will be accepted. There will be no "pay at the door." Reservations will be accepted until Friday, April 22nd. At that point, I must give the caterer the final number.

Students may bring a date to the banquet. The date does not have to be a band student or attend Cypress Creek High School.

Each senior band student is encouraged to submit 5-6 photos with music to the blue box. The photos and music should be on a CD to make this process for the parent volunteer putting this together for us. The music and photos should be school appropriate. Each picture will be displayed for about 5 seconds or so, so you only need 15 to 20 seconds of thier favorite song. Most pics range from baby to senior portrait, but they can be anything with your child in it. We will accept pics until 4/15.


Our indoor drumline finished their short performance season this past weekend at a competition in Pearland. Unfortunately, this was a very short season. Due to weather and technical difficulties, they only were able to perform in two of the four competitions.

We commend the hard work and dedication of the students who participated in this endeavor. In addition to a rigourous, marching band like practice schedule, they had to learn their UIL music, and additional music for the Percussion Production back in February. We have some amazingly talented musicians in our band!

Come out and watch all the students as they perform in their UIL concerts this week and then two weeks from now.


The boosters award 5 - $500 scholarships to senior band students. More info will be available in a seperate email shortly. Very shortly as these will be awarded at the banquet. Encourage your student to start that essay now.


We are in need of 3 chaperones for Concert II April 8th, (Friday) leaving Creek at 9:15 a.m. to perform at Cy-Springs. Please contact Suzanne Ortega, if you are able to help!
