Hey Band and Color Guard!

It's a great day to be a Cougar! Big win last Friday night, KPRC Game of the Week this Friday night and it is Cy Creek Homecoming 2011! Hope everyone has a great time at the Homecoming festivities! Check out the awesome pictures from last week's game!

Friday's Schedule

3:30 run-through
4:30 Load, Eat, and Change (we wear our full dress uniform this week)
5:30 Section Leaders inspect their sections
5:45 Load Buses.

We will be wearing our full uniform. Please make sure you have long black socks, black marching shoes. You will wear your new show shirt under your uniform. Everyone has been fitted for their uniform. Men with long hair need to make sure that they have a skull cap to tuck hair in under marching hat (called a Shako). Black spandex shorts need to be worn under uniform.

This week is Homecoming. We will perform our show post-game.

*Be looking for another update this week for our game of the week times. Students will also miss their 6th and 7th period on Friday for the pep rally!

Thanks to all who picked up flags Monday! We only had 1 who forgot to do their route but many flags needed to be rewrapped and banded. Thanks to Alex Cook for providing some rubber bands. We'll try to have more in stock next time. We are still taking orders and the orders continue to come in. Your work, your time and your efforts are appreciated. It is from your involvement that we have raised $35,000!!!!

Fundraising-Entertainment books

Ms Jenkins and Mrs Schlommer will be at school on Wednesdays if you're ready to turn in your books and/or money. Deadline for return of books, money and buy-outs is September 23. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 sellers. Don't miss out!

Remember to eat your bananas

Besides keeping well hydrated with the awesome new water jugs, students are encouraged to continue replacing their electrolytes to keep from cramping up on the marching field. If you are tired of eating bananas everyday, attached is a document that lists other sources of potassium which is necessary in this heat! A band parent who is a registered dietitian put this Potassium information together for you to have as a resource.

Exchange Student?

We are looking for a host for an exchange student attending Cy-Creek.
Please feel free to forward my information on to those who may be
interested in finding out about hosting.
