Hey Band and Color Guard!
Summer band is here! The Percussion group has already been working hard this past week and summer band will start this coming week! It is very hot and humid! Make sure you come prepared with tennis shoes, large water jug, sunscreen, BUG SPRAY, hat, sunglasses, flip books, and a great attitude to start the year.
There are many announcements! Please pay close attention to dates and times! You don't want to miss out or be in the dark!
July 31 Tuesday 7 pm Informational Parent Meeting..Come get ALL of your questions answered! I promise your student will not bring home everything you need to know!!!
August 1-3, 6-10 8am-Noon and 1pm - 4 pm (Send lunch or provide transportation for lunch)
August 4 Saturday 10-1 (come and go) FEE DAY (More info to follow)
August 7 Tuesday 6:45-9 Aerodrome Skating/Broomball (Must have signed waiver to participate)
August 10 Friday 11 pm-6 am Rock-A-Thon (More info to follow)
August 14 Tuesday Movie Night Silverado Movie Theatre
August 16 Thursday 7-10pm Norchester Pool Party (Jones and Grant)
August 23 Thursday Show-off/Kick-off Dinner
FORMS/PHYSICALS
All physicals and forms should be completed. They may be found on the band website www.cycreekband.com You need to print all 14 pages. There are signatures needed from parents and student. There is also an agreement page that must be signed. I would recommend making a copy before turning in to box in band hall. (especially the physical…just in case!) Turn in forms to the clear box labeled "Band Forms" in the band hall. A Policy Agreement form must be signed by both parent and student and turned in. The Band Handbook can be found on the forms page and the agreement form is the last page of the handbook.
NORCHESTER POOL PARTY
Who: All Band Members (which includes color guard) Only - No Tag-A-Longs
What: Swim Party
When: Thursday, August 16 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Where: Norchester Pool, 13439 Jones Road Houston, TX 77070
Bring: Towel, proper pool swim suit and gear (if desired), If your last name begins with A-L bring something to drink, if your last name begins with M-Z bring a snack. Participation fees are paid by the booster club.
NO TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED TO OR FROM THIS EVENT. ALL STUDENTS MUST OBEY POOL RULES AND LIFEGUARDS.
ATTENTION STUDENTS THAT DRIVE! PARKING MAY BE LIMITED. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF STORES OR IN ALLEY WAYS. UTILITZE OPEN PARKING SPACE IN THE SHOPPING CENTER ON THE EAST SIDE OF JONES ROAD IF NECESSARY.
AERODROME SKATING/BROOMBALL
WHO: ALL BAND MEMBERS ONLY (WHICH INCLUDES COLORGUARD), NO TAG-A-LONGS
WHAT: BROOMBALL and ICE SKATING
WHEN: TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2012 6:45pm to 9:00pm
WHERE: AERODROME ICE SKATING COMPLEX - TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THIS EVENT IS NOT PROVIDED

BRING: Suitable clothing (jeans/shirt/light jacket), enclosed shoes with rubber soles and full SOCKS to wear with the skates!
Money for concessions (if desired). No outside food or drinks will be allowed in.
Entrance and participation fees are paid by the booster club.
COMPLETED WAIVER MUST BE TURNED IN BEFORE STUDENT MAY BE ADMITTED. (ATTACHED)
There will be an Aerodrome box by the band forms and we will collect forms at the door the night of the event.
FEE DAY
FEE DAY - ** Senior parents** please come with your senior to get your picture taken with your senior band/color guard student for our senior presentation. We will have band jackets for the band member to put on so you may dress in CyCreek blue or whatever you would like to be photographed in. This will be taken during the fee day scheduled time.
ROCK-A-THON
ROCK-A-THON – Is an easy fundraiser that is tons of fun. Students obtain sponsorships to support the band for the amount of hours they "rock" The event is held at Creek and students bring any "rocking" chair and rock the night away. Start on your sponsors now. If you bring in at least $150 in donations to this event, your Band Banquet ticket will be covered. All participants must bring in at least $50 in donations to the band. You must bring in the money collected to the event.
PROCEDURES
If ever you have money, RSVP's, or other important information to turn in….it goes in the BLUE BOX attached to the wall in the band hall. It has a lock on it. Please make sure your information is clearly marked. If turning in a check, please make sure the students name is in the "memo" line of the check and clearly mark with the check is for. If you are turning in cash, please always use a sealed envelope with the amount, the students name and what the payment is for clearly marked on the envelope.
SHOW OFF/KICK OFF DINNER
This is the opportunity for parents and family to see what the band has been working so hard on their marching show. It is also an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. Parents and families may attend, but everyone who it eating must make a reservation and pay $10.00 per person. Band families will be able to pay for this at fee day or closer to the event.We will need to have money (turned into the blue box) for this event in by Monday, August 20th. We will be having Bar-b-que loaded spuds with dessert from Tiffany's Treats.
FLAG FUNDRAISER
Remember your renewals must be turned in by August 20. We are also accepting new subscriptions. Encourage your neighbors to have a flag placed in their yard! You will be signing up for routes on fee day.
