Please read this important news for all band members. Mr. Choate has found an opportunity that will benefit his family and allow him to move closer to his extended family. He has resigned his position at Cypress Creek and has sent a message to all band students and parents below. We wish him and his family all the best with his move and in his future endeavors.
Of course, this news raises many questions, most of which we don't have answers for just yet. Please be assured that CFISD has some of the highest quality band directors in the state and that we can expect the next director to be a strong musician that is dedicated to music education and to the highest level of excellence. Also, know that summer band will still happen and you should continue to prepare your marching music for passoff! Please continue to check your email for TWIB updates and news will be sent as soon as possible.
Letter from Mr. Choate:
Dear Students and Parents,
I have accepted a job that offers my family the opportunity to move closer to both my wife's parents and my father.
It has been an amazing five years. Between marching band, region band, concert band and the concerto competition, we have learned a great deal and hopefully had some fun along the way.
Students, I have enjoyed being your teacher for these five years. It is so rewarding to have students that are eager to learn and so willing to do the necessary hard work. You should be proud of your accomplishments, both individually and as an ensemble.
Parents, it was a pleasure teaching your children. I hope you are pleased with their progress in band.
I will miss all of you and wish you all the best of luck in the future.
