Message from Mr. Drake:
Thank you all for a great week!  We improved SO much this week, and that is due to all of your hard work.  Remember, my goal this Saturday is for you to walk off the field proud of what you've accomplished, having marched your personal best, with no regrets or feelings it wasn't as good as it could have been.  
This week is our LAST push towards greatness on Saturday with our final performance of our contest show.  You all deserve to be successful - please push through this week with 100 percent attendance at all rehearsals. 
I'm very proud of all of what you've accomplished this marching season - I've made a lot of changes to how we do things and you've worked so hard to do everything I've asked of you.  
Thank you so much for that and let's have a GREAT UIL contest!  Please plan on playing concert instruments in chairs and on risers in class next Monday!

This week in band:

Schedule for stadium rehearsal
Report time: 12:45 for instruments that go on equipment bus.  Load at 1, depart 1:45.  Rehearse 3-4:45.  Back at Creek around 6 PM.
Items needed: shako, marching shoes and socks and dry-fit shirts.

Game day!  Rehearsal 3:00 to 5:00 Load, eat, change and depart for Pridgeon Field.  Kick-off is 7 PM.  We are VISITORS so please park on the Falcon Road side of the stadium.  Please note:  We play Cy-Ridge and this is their homecoming game.  The band will stay to support the Cy-Ridge band as they march their show after the game due to homecoming.

UIL Schedule Saturday, October 19

Rehearse: 11:15 AM
Load/Eat: 12:45 PM Because this is a contest, ALL band members will be fed a Chik-Fil-A lunch at no cost.  No need to sign up.
Depart: 1:45 PM
Compete: 3:30 PM

UIL is being held at the Berry Center. Parents, family and friends of the band are welcome!  The address is 8877 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77433. Admission is $3.00 and has been cash only in the past.  Results are immediate so the band will load and leave as soon as possible after performing.  There are 21 bands performing.  The last band performs at 4:00.  Go band!

 And now a word from the Meal Mom! Volunteer opportunity!
Congratulations to the Meal Mom on her new full-time job!  She is committed to finishing this marching season, but regrets that she will be unable to volunteer in the same manner next year due to her work obligations.  Hollie is happy to explain the job in detail and to provide training for the next Meal Mom.  Please contact her for more details!  (The TWIB would like to thank our Meal Mom for keeping the band fed and HAPPY each week!)
The signup sheet is on the Blue Booster Bulletin board in the band room.  It will come down Wednesday at NOON (not at the end of the day!!!).  This week's meal is Papa John's.  The default entrĂ©e is cheese pizza.  Any adult that is volunteering for the band/game that day, like pit crew or bus chaperones,  may order, but it MUST be on the sheet or e-mailed to before NOON on Wednesday 10-16-13.  Late orders will not be accepted due to vendor deadlines. Thanks for your cooperation! 
Do you shop at Kroger?  Yes? Then please help the band at NO cost to you!

Please register your Kroger Plus card to help support our band as a part of their community outreach.  A Kroger Plus card holder needs to go to and click under Texas to enroll.  You will need to create an account if you haven't done so previously.  This is a short process where you add contact information and select your store.  It will then ask if you want to register a Kroger Plus card. Please enter your 12 digit card number (no spaces) and then select Cypress Creek Band Booster Club as your designated organization.  The organization's number is 82723, but you can also pull it up by name.  Within 7 to 10 days, a line should appear at the bottom of each Kroger receipt indicating that the band is your selected organization.  The money received from Kroger quarterly will go to the band in general.

Spring Trip Payment now due!

If you missed the booster meeting and your child is planning to go on the Spring Trip your first payment is now due.  Please send a $100 check made out to CCBBC to school for deposit in the blue box in the band hall.  You MUST have your student's full name and spring trip on the check!  Thank you!
