From Mr. Dra ke: Dear Parents and Students, THANK YOU, so much, to all parents and students who volunteered this weekend in selling and serving food for the TFA State Tournament. I realize the personal sacrifice made by so many and thank you for working so hard and giving selflessly of your time to help raise funds for our band and to serve our school. Thank you, especially, to Hollie Ashby for spending so much time and energy organizing our part of the event; we know how much work this was for you and we can't thank you enough. The event went off without a hitch, and it's all due to our wonderful parent and student volunteers. Thank you! One more week until a deserved Spring Break! Please note the importance this week as the end of the three week grade check. Please help ensure all students are passing every class (including waive-able classes) at the end of this week, especially those who failed a class last six weeks. All students must pass this week to be able to participate in pre-UIL on March 28th. Concert I and Concert II students must pass this week in order to be eligible for UIL on April 15 and 16. Symphonic Band members must pass at the end of the six weeks for UIL. ALL students must pass at the end of the six weeks to go on the spring trip. Yes! This all sounds complicated. The best way to make it simple is this: students, please pass your classes... then eligibility becomes very simple.
Please note that the April 1st booster meeting will serve as the final information meeting regarding the spring trip. Please have a parent representative for every student attending the full weekend trip so that we can give you final information. I encourage those who are going for the day trip to be in attendance as well. The boosters have supplied buses for all going on the weekend and day trips; we ask please that if you are going on the day trip that you turn in $40 to help offset competition costs. Thank you to those who have already helped by making their payment. If not going on the full weekend trip, all students are asked and expected to go on the day trip, April 25th, to San Antonio to perform with their band. We will leave at about 8 am and will return at about 8-9 pm.
Let's have a great week!!
